Duties: A focus on Curriculum and Instruction to instruct students in graduate and undergraduate courses in Elementary Education curriculum, specializing in Early Childhood Education preferred. All full-time faculty members of the Department of Elementary Education participate in various aspects of departmental programs including student advising. We encourage applications from candidates who bring diverse cultural experiences or perspectives to the campus and who can mentor and advise all members of our diverse student body.
Qualifications: Teaching experience at the elementary school level and an earned doctorate in Curriculum and Instruction or related field of education is required (ABD with a firm completion date will be considered). The applicant must show evidence of scholarship or scholarly potential and the ability to excel in a collegial and team-oriented departmental environment. Experience in university teaching, early literacy strategies, and NCATE accreditation procedures are desired.
