Tired of waiting for a computer to print from? Now you can setup your own personal computer to print to an on campus computer lab printer!
The setup process contains a few, detailed steps. Fortunately, you only have to setup IPP once. After initial setup, it is easy to use.
The instructions below are for Windows computers. However, the steps involved are exactly the same for users of Mac and for Linux. The only differences will be in how dialogs specific to your operating system look and work.
If you have any questions about using IPP printing, please call or e-mail. Our office hours and contact information can be found on the home page of our web site.

Using IPP
Now that you have setup the IPP printer on your computer, you are ready to print to your IPP printer.
Print your file or document as you normally would from the application. This is usually accomplished by using the Print command on the File menu.
When you go to Print, make sure you select the new IPP printer. For example, select HUM103CLJ_5550 if you want to print to the color printer in the Student Help Desk.
You must now return to the Academic Computing web site IPP printing page. The address is http://acs.newpaltz.edu/wireless/ipp-wireless-printing/. Now click on the link in the SECOND paragraph under the heading You are now ready to print, as shown below.
This page shows you how many pages are left in your print quota, how many pages each job is and how many pages it will deduct from your print quota. Select the jobs in the queue you would like to print by checking them off on the left side. When ready, click on the Print button. Your print jobs will now be submitted to the printer and will be printed.
