Environmental Studies Minor
The college now offers two programs in the School of Science and Engineering that are geared towards students with environmental interests.
The Environmental Studies minor provides an excellent general education in environmental issues that serves as a complement to any major. In addition to course work, the minor includes opportunities for students to gain fieldwork experience working for organizations that address environmental concerns. The college also offers a major in Environmental Geochemical Science for students who seek to work in technical fields addressing environmental issues.
The Environmental Studies Minor is an interdisciplinary program which gives an overview of the causes and consequences of our current environmental problems and provides basic tools and understanding students will need to become active participants in the solutions. Fieldwork opportunities include the Brook Farm Project, the Enviornmental Task Force, and the organization Students for Sustainable Agriculture.
