OMNIBUS 2008 celebrates the work of Thesis students in the Graphic Design BFA program by providing a platform for presentation and discussion of ideas to and with the university and New Paltz communities. This year our research and projects have centered on sustainability in many contexts : the environment, designer-audience-client relations, how meaning may be created and maintained.

"The Read Dirt on Farmer John"
The Real Dirt on Farmer John will turn every idea you ever had about what it means to be an American farmer, or an American dreamer, on its head. Meet Farmer John, the incredible human being whose inspirational story of revolutionizing his family farm and redeeming his own life has won accolades and awards at film festivals around the world.

The Environmental Task Force and the Sierra Club present:
“The Unforeseen” a film by Laura Dunn produced by Robert Redford
This film documents conflicts between development pressure and protecting water resources. Following the film there will be a panel discussion about how local water resources may be threatened by development in the Catskill Mountains.
