April J. Jenkins: Science: Biology: "Selection for Tricolosan Resistance in staphylococcus aureus Due to Overuse of Tricolosan-Containing Skin Care Products".

Ms. Atkins' project attempted to determine whether or not the resistance to tricolosan can be selected for in staphylococcus aureus through the overuse of tricolosan and tricolosan-containing products. S. Aureus is a bracterium that is typically found on the skin and is responsible for most skin infections. This new information can be used to change how tricolosan is used thereby, decreasing the number of tricolosan-resistant strains from developing.
