Attending: Greg Wirszyla, Glenn Geher (Chair), Lisa Chase, Debra Miller, Russell Hilliard, Matthew Schwartz, Jason Carter, Yoav Kaddar, Yoni Schwartz, Mohammad Zunoubi, Wilma Feliciano, Ben Edres.
Minutes from the previous meeting were accepted with various changes.
Announcements:
YS: The Chairs from the various departments have expressed concern that the Provost and the President are changing the guidelines for tenure. A petition is being circulated calling for a special faculty with the President and the Provost. The sole purpose of this meeting will be to address questions revolving around the perceived shift in standards for promotion and tenure.
Calendars:
The Spring 2006 NH (No Holidays) Calendar has been accepted unanimously with the following changes:
Spring Break will be moved from the week of 3/13/06 to 3/20/06
The Fall 2006 H (Holiday) Calendar has been accepted unanimously with the following changes: There will be no classes after 3:15 PM on 9/22/06. (Instead of 3:00 PM)
The Spring 2007 H Calendar has been accepted unanimously with the following changes: Spring Break will be moved to coincide with Passover and Easter (week of 4/2/07)
The Spring 2007 H Calendar has been accepted unanimously as the template for the Spring 2007 NH Calendar.
The Fall 2006 NH Calendar has been accepted with the following changes:
Calendar was passed with 8 for, 4 against, and 1 abstaining. An ancillary motion to change the Fall 2006 H Calendar to match the Fall 2006 NH Calendar with the following changes:
was passed.
The Fall 2007 NH Calendar has been accepted unanimously with the following changes:
The Spring 2008 NH Calendar has been accepted with the following changes:
The vote for this calendar was 8 for and 3 abstained.

The Spring 2008 H Calendar has been accepted unanimously with the following changes:
There was further discussion about presenting either one or two calendars to the Faculty and the Senate. A question was raised as to the presentation of these calendars to the Faculty and Senate, whether or not to present them as a whole or as individual years. A suggestion to post the calendars prior to the Faculty meetings was made.
A motion to acknowledge on the Academic Calendar the following holidays: Ramadan, Chinese New Year and the Hindu Holy Day(s) with an asterisk so as to treat them as equal to the Christian and Jewish Holidays in terms of exam schedules was tabled.
Motion to adjourn the meeting was passed.
