Meeting Minutes 2/18/03

The minutes of the committee meeting on 2/11/03 were approved as written

Discussion on the two different academic calendar options (A and B) for fall 2004 ensued. Issues of observance of religious holiday; a mid-semester fall break; substitution days; how early and late the fall semester starts and ends; and holiday departure dates for international students were points of discussion. It was noted that the hand-out on the two options contained the following date errors: under option A, Common Exam Day Dec 16 (Fri) is probably an error; and under option B, Final exams Dec 15-22 should be Dec 15- 21.

A question arose as to whether or not there is an erroneous listing of “no classes” on Columbus Day for the fall 2003 calendar.

Glenn will contact Deb Miller to draw up a third calendar option without holidays to consider at our next meeting on Feb 26.

There were no action items during this meeting.

The meeting was adjourned at 12:25 PM.
