Dear Fine & Performing Arts Faculty and Staff,
As we are busily planning for end-of-semester activities and events — and the culmination of a very active and productive academic year — I wanted to take a moment to celebrate the spectacular line-up of significant individual awards, both internal to the college and SUNY and of national scope, that recently have been bestowed on members of our F&PA community.
Congratulations to Myra Mimlitsch-Gray, Professor of Art, who was awarded the 2012 United States Artists Glasgow Fellowship in Crafts and Traditional Arts.
Congratulations to Anita Gonzalez, Professor of Theatre Arts, who was named the inaugural Provost's Fellow at SUNY New Paltz.
Congratulations to Andrea Varga, Associate Professor of Theatre Arts, who received the Provost's Faculty Excellence Award in Teaching.
Congratulations to Kathy Goodell, Professor of Art, who is the recipient of a 2013 Fellow Grant in the category of Creative/Fine Arts from the John Simon Guggenheim Memorial Foundation.
And, most recently, congratulations to Jack Wade, Chair and Professor of Theatre Arts, who has received the Chancellor's Award for Excellence in Teaching.
These accomplishments speak to the exceptional work of our colleagues and reflect the outstanding work in teaching, research and creative production, and leadership evident in the work of faculty throughout the School of Fine & Performing Arts. Please join me in congratulating our awardees and their terrific accomplishments!
