Cultural Hub of the Hudson Valley

Named for the late collector and philanthropist Samuel Dorsky, the Samuel Dorsky Museum of Art (SDMA) offers state-of-the-art exhibition and teaching facilities. The SDMA is one of the largest museums within the SUNY system. Its mission is two-fold:

  • To support and enrich the academic programs at New Paltz while presenting a broad range of world art for enjoyment
  • Serve as a center in the arts and culture of the Hudson Valley

Membership and gifts to the museum will help the Samuel Dorsky Museum of Art grow into a primary steward of the region's cultural heritage. The museum will enhance the visibility and stature of SUNY New Paltz and its arts programs in the community and across the nation.
