Testing Information

  1. Proficiency Test:
  • The test is for Foreign Language Majors only
  • The fee is $50.00
  • You receive 4 credits at the 300 level (equivalent to Spanish 301)
  • Test is administered once a year in April – date to be determined
    • Students should register with the Department Secretary in JFT 414 prior to the test.

  1. Assessment Test:
  • Test is for Secondary Education Majors in Spanish and French
  • The test must be successfully completed by the semester prior to student teaching.
  • The test is administered twice a year (October and April)
    • Wednesday, October 28, 2009 at 2:00p.m. in LC 112
    • April test date TBA
    • Students should register with the Department Secretary in JFT 414

  1. Oral Proficiency Interview (OPI):
  • The test must be successfully completed by the semester prior to student teaching.
  • Please contact a Coordinator to be assigned a Proctor
  • Please Note:  It takes two to three weeks to get an appointment, and if you do not reach a minimum level of Advanced-Low, you must wait 90 days before rescheduling the OPI.
