... and oh, take my picture in front of this monument just so I can say I've been to this country and that's not what I'm looking for. I would much rather, like I said, be immersed in a community, welcomed into a culture, like I was in the Village of [African village] and so, actually, during my travel week in one of the hotels we stayed at I ran into these people who were from---this one woman was from Atlanta---she's actually originally from Ghana, but she lives in Atlanta---and now she's back in Ghana doing sanitation and HIV education, and another woman who lives in Pennsylvania was doing the same thing and, like, her energy was amazing. I loved this woman. Oh, my God, we've got to keep in contact and we were looking how can we get volunteers to come here and do work and I was like well, you know, look up my organization, maybe they can send a group here in the future, potentially, they're like, can we get you to come back? And I was like maybe, I don't know, you know, I'm looking to do more volunteer work, so that's an avenue that I might possibly go down. I would love if I'm ever in the region, I will definitely stop by and do everything in my power to get back with those (individual? indigenous?) people because I can't, I would never, be in Ghana and not try to get there. I probably would never be in West Africa and not try to get there, you know, and like, for example, we had a 12-hour layover in Germany and I have friends in Germany because I was there last summer and there was an exchange student at my high school from Germany, as well, so I was, you know, I'm there for 12 hours and I'm trying to like hook up with these people. None of it worked out, unfortunately but, you know, if I have ties back with someone, I generally try to keep in touch with them and hook up with them again. But as far as volunteer work goes, I'd love to go anywhere. I'd like to go to India and Thailand and, you know, Latin America is on the list, eventually, as well, but I'd like to travel around more of Africa and definitely make it back to Ghana, eventually.
