
Daniel Gonzalez
After graduating from New Paltz with a degree in political science, Daniel Gonzalez '87 earned his law degree from Hofstra University School of Law and became a member of the New York and Florida Bars. In April 2005 he was appointed as the Federal Communications Commission's (FCC) Chief of Staff.
Gonzalez previously served as the FCC Charman's Senior Legal Advisor and Legal Advisor for common carrier matters where he advised the commissioner on matters related to telephone competition, universal service, and Internet policy. Previously, he served as Vice President for External and Regulatory Affairs at XO Communications where he was responsible for managing federal and state regulatory policy for the Virginia-based local telecommunications company.
