How do you help prepare students for life after college?
![]()
As an educator of teachers, I believe that I prepare my students for life after college each time I enter the classroom. Teaching students to be future teachers is a real joy because my students are passionate about their future careers. I have been involved in a number of partnerships between the college and elementary schools over the past five years. These partnerships usually involve teaching my science methods course on-site at an elementary school; supervising a group of pre-service elementary teachers throughout the school day; collaborating with in-service teachers; and offering professional development opportunities for the in-service teachers. In these partnerships, I observe my students thriving as they bridg the gap between theory and practice.
