Amy Waldman is a former New York Times journalist and author of The Submission, a highly acclaimed novel. The Submission imagines the angry fallout when a jury chooses an anonymous design for a Sept. 11 memorial at ground zero, and the architect turns out to be Muslim American. The reaction from the jury members, the public, and the victims' families is both complex and emotional. Ms. Waldman's appearance in New Paltz offers a special opportunity for readers to hear from the author directly. A book signing and reception will follow the presentation.
