David Darts, associate professor and chair of the NYU Steinhardt Art Department, will speak on Tuesday, April 8 at 6:30 p.m. in the Coykendall Science Building Auditorium on the interface of Fine and Performing Arts and Science and Engineering. Darts focuses his work on the "convergences between contemporary art and design, technology and freedom". The talk will delve into part of the back story of art, DIY, hackerspace, and open source cultures that sparked companies like MakerBot.

Reception starts at 6 p.m., followed by the talk at 6:30 p.m.
