The evening's concert will focus on music of composers who came to fame during the Poné Ensemble's 40 years: Philip Glass, John Corigliano, André Previn, Elliot Carter, Otto Luening, Bright Sheng, William Grant Still, John Luther Adams, Walter Skolnik, John Harbison, Stanley Walden, Richard Wilson, the Ensemble's founder Gundaris Poné, and women composers who began to flourish during this time: Katherine Hoover, Ellen Taaffe Zwillich, Libby Larson, Jennifer Higdon, and the Hudson Valley's own Joan Tower, Hilary Tann, and Shirley Hoffman Warren.
