Primate sexual behavior will be discussed in this lecture, with focus upon experimental work with chacma baboons (Papio ursinus). Extensions into work with humans presenting with a rare intersex condition will also be described. Finally, consideration will be given to the way in which societal pressures have impacted the research efforts in this topic area in both historic and contemporary times.
