The Career Resource Center and The Honors Program invite you to join us for a student panel discussion “Stories from Volunteers: Meaningful volunteer experiences.” Panelists will share their stories of volunteerism and how their experiences have helped to shape their educational and career goals. They will also take your questions. Please follow this link to register by Friday, March 15 http://www.newpaltz.edu/careers/volunteerpanel.html Panelists include: Jessica DiLello (Senior, Secondary Education: Geology) has volunteered with the Girl Scout Council as a troop leader for the past three years. She found the opportunity at the SUNY New Paltz Volunteer Fair and was recently elected as the Council’s “Cookie Chair” for 2013. Alexandra Saba (Senior, Psychology) participated in a winter service learning program in El Sauce, Nicaragua where she taught English for nearly three weeks. She also participated in New Paltz Alternative Spring Breaks 2011 & 2012, the Make a Difference Day Planning Committee 2011 & 2012, and is an ongoing volunteer tutor with Highland Residential Center. Kevin Sanchez (Sophomore, International Relations) participated in Alternative Spring Break 2012 and will return as a student mentor for the 2013 program. He is also a Resident Assistant in Bouton Hall, a member of the Male Call a Capella group, and has volunteered as an English conversation partner with the SUNY New Paltz ESL program. All years and majors are welcome to attend. Pizza will be served.
