And so this is New Paltz

Just see what you’ve done
To make our school stronger
To stay number one

And yes this is New Paltz
The orange and the blue
There’s much to be proud of
So this song’s for you.

When numbers of freshmen
Ne’er seen here before
Arrived back in August
You opened the door

The Res Halls were ready
All cleaned and improved
New sprinklers installed
And the furniture moved

In Faculty Tower
Humanities too
The air was conditioned
So nobody’d stew

And so this is New Paltz
Just see what you’ve done
To make our school stronger
To stay number one

Our faculty scholars
Win grants and awards
And for each Commencement
They don mortarboards

In each of their classes
They’re happy to see
How their students have grown
Intellectually

Should crooks come near campus
On students to prey
Our skillful police force
Will ruin their day

They teach our community
About self-defense
To walk where blue lights shine
And not in darkness

When dandelions go wild
Or other weeds grow
The grounds crew removes them
Like they do with the snow.

And yes this is New Paltz
The orange and the blue
There’s much to be proud of
So this song’s for you.

Where is that lost memo?
It’s a deep mystery!
That can only be solved
By your secretary.

The students get answers
To questions obscure
She’ll make sure you get paid
For your travel voucher.

In order that students
Have hot food to eat
In the new Parker lobby
We serve salads and meat.

Oh yes, this is New Paltz
Our future is bright
If the state cuts our funding
We’ll put up a fight!

Each holiday season
We stand before you
And raise up our voices
To salute what you do

For your care and devotion
Spring, winter and fall
We gratefully thank you
Happy Holidays all!
