Housing

Scudder HallThere are thirteen residence halls that provide campus housing. Generally, two students and sometimes three students share a room. Each dormitory has a full-time Resident Director and several Resident Assistants. Resident Assistants are students who live and work in the halls to help students make the most of living on campus.

Each hall is equipped with various common areas that have TV and study lounges, computers, laundry facilities, vending machines, one kitchenette, a microwave, and a public pay phone.

It is important to make an early reservation for campus housing. All students living in the residence halls must purchase a meal plan to eat in the many campus-dining facilities; the student rooms do not have kitchens for preparing meals.

In addition, we here in SUNY New Paltz have various theme housing programs. Especially for the International students we have a CARE Program.

Other Residence Hall information can be found on the Residence Life site.

For any other concerns about on campus housing visit the Department of Residence Life's Web site.

Advisory:
New students are encouraged to live on campus and purchase a meal plan for their first academic year. Off-campus housing is difficult to find and can be expensive. The university does not provide assistance with finding off-campus housing.
