Study Abroad in Dundee, Scotland

Caroline Denis is a graduate of SUNY New Paltz with a
Bachelors degree in History as well as a EOP student that studied abroad
in Dundee, Scotland in spring 2006. Denis took two five-credit History
courses while studying in Scotland, the Ante-Bellum South and Race and Region,
which added new perspectives to her knowledge of History. While in
Scotland, she visited the Blair Castle and Edinburgh Castle among other places.
Along her journey she learned how to "Ceili"
, perform the Gay Gordon and the
Waltz, which are all forms of Scottish Dancing. She also embarked
on a twenty one day backpacking trip with two other SUNY New Paltz
students. They traveled through eight European countries and 14 cities
including; Germany, Italy, Vatican City, Spain, Morocco, France, Belgium, and
Holland. Caroline and her companions checked out historical and
cultural monuments such as: the Basilica of San Giorgio Maggiore,
Piazza San Marco, The Roman Colosseum, The Italian National Monument, The
Pantheon, Roman Forum, 1992 Olympic Stadium in Barcelona, the Hercules Cave,
the Eiffel Tower, Notre Dame, the Louvre, Manikin Pis, Anne Franks House, and
the Van Gogh Museum.
