Environmental Geochemical Science Story

EGS Seniors present their research

12/08/2009

The EGS major requires 6 credits of research mentored by a faculty member. Although students often present their work at local, regional, or national conferences, all graduating seniors give a seminar presenting their work.

Kate Lawrence and John Giuliano just completed their presentations.

John Giuliano discusses his research on 'The Decline of Chestnut Oak in Forests of the Shawangunk Mountains.' (Mentor: Professor Carol Rietsma in Biology)

Kate Lawrence presents her work on 'Effects of Road Salts and Run-off on Two Similar Wetland Streams' (Mentor: Professor Megan Ferguson, Chemistry) and 'A Geophysical, Sedimentological, and Micro-Paleontological Study of a Landslide - or - What Forams?' (Mentor: Professor John Rayburn, Geology).
