Fiona Paton has taught a variety of classes at New Paltz, from composition to advanced graduate courses.
Research/Creative Activity
Despite her Scottish origins, her main area of specialization is American literature after 1945, with a particular emphasis on the Beat writers of the 1950s. She has published essays on Jack Kerouac and William S. Burroughs, and is currently writing on the Scottish Beat writer Alexander Trocchi.
