Two Engineering Students are recognized for Excellent Internship Performance

Engineering Students Matthew George and Joshua Dragula received awards for excellent internship performance at the annual award ceremony organized by the Career Resource Center. Congratulations to both of them!

Below is a brief description of their valuable internship experience.

Matthew George:

Matthew George had the opportunity to intern at SIEMENS Industry, Inc. during the summers of 2008 and 2009. Working with their Mobility Division in New York City, Matthew supported the PA/CIS Rail Communication Project and Hardware Engineers. Matthew’s specific duties ranged from investigating and preparing Hardware Catalog Cut Sheets, to computing power and load calculations for the design of training facilities. Matthew also provided support in the setup of project test labs and PA/CIS Communications Rooms in the Rail Control Center. Altogether, Matthew learned much from his internship experience and excelled in his many responsibilities.

Joshua Dragula:

Joshua Dragula had the privilege to intern at Central Hudson Gas and Electric from May through August of 2009. Working with their Transmission Design Team located in Poughkeepsie, he utilized his time researching and making field observations of the transmission poles' electrical protections, specifically in regards to the positioning of the supporting guy wires. Joshua also had the opportunity to make corona field observations, analyze the transmission lines' right-of-way, aid his team in their daily endeavors, attend department meetings, learning from his teamwork. Altogether, Joshua enjoyed a great internship experience and endeavored to perform his responsibilities with excellence.
