Solar Car Team holds Sponsor Recognition Mixer

11/20/2009

Congressman Maurice Hinchey received a $ 2.25 million grant for developing alternative energy resources in the Hudson Valley. Vinnie Cozzolino, president of The Solar Energy Consortium (TSEC), was instrumental in securing this grant. Congressman Hinchey allocated $100,000 from that grant to the SUNY New Paltz Solar Car Student Club, which was created by engineering professor Michael Otis.

On November 12, 2009, the Solar Car Team held a Sponsor Recognition Mixer. The following sponsors were acknowledged:
• TSEC
• Fala Technology
• Opto 22
• PVI Solar
• Ulster Boces
• P&G’s
• Daniel Jelski, Dean of the School of Science and Engineering
• The SUNY New Paltz Engineering Department
• The SUNY New Paltz Student Association
