Electrical Engineering can be so much fun!
John Werner and Arthur Cecchini, who were ranked respectively number one and number three in their class, graduated last spring semester with a BS degree in Electrical and Computer Engineering. One of the graduation requirements is the completion of a Senior Design Project -the capstone experience in the engineering program. John and Arthur produced one of the most amazing senior design projects in the history of our department.
They designed and constructed a car-steering system that does not require mechanical components- only electrical. As if this was not enough of an accomplishment, they decided to demonstrate their design by…building up their own electric car! Their project demonstration, which consisted of driving around in the SUNY New Paltz campus, attracted a large number of students, professors, and local industry and government representatives.
