Guidelines
To enter the Early Childhood/Childhood Education B-6 program students must meet the following criteria:
- Overall GPA of at least 2.75
- At least 30 college credits and no more than 75 (including in-progress) credits
- At least 30 hours of Pre-Professional Fieldwork documented by a teacher/director/supervisor (form can be found here). Suggested types of fieldwork include:
- Camp counseling
- Substitute teaching or teacher’s aide
- Afterschool programs
- Coaching
- Teaching religious education
- Fieldwork from community colleges
- Be prepared to declare one of the following liberal arts concentrations:
- Art history
- Biology
- Black studies
- Earth science
- English
- French
- Geography
- History
- Mathematics
- Political science
- Spanish
