SUNY-YOK Dual Diploma Programs

Admissions

Detailed Admissions Instructions

The information requested below will be used to process formal admission to SUNY New Paltz for the undergraduate dual diploma programs sponsored in partnership with Turkish universities, to establish the student record, and to prepare immigration documents. Therefore, it is very important that these instructions are followed carefully.

1. Please complete the online admission form at the appropriate Studio Abroad webpage. We have recently begun using an online application system for you to submit your application and all of the required paperwork. It also provides detailed information about each program. You will be given a link to the specific page for your program by your campus coordinators; you can also find the appropriate link for your program from the "Apply Now" button. You can complete the initial questionnaire at any time after you have been admitted to the program in Turkey but you will not be fully admitted to SUNY New Paltz until you submit all of the required documents, including the financial documents and proof of English proficiency.

2. You should complete the International Student Financial statement (FSA-4) and add the required supporting documents. You will need to be able to document that you can pay for all living expenses on campus, including tuition, fees, room and board, health insurance, books, and personal expenses. SUNY New Paltz will provide your campus coordinator with a copy of the estimate of costs for the year and the amount of money that must be certified. You should obtain two original copies of the required certified bank document; one of which will be sent to New Paltz to process your immigration documents and the other that you will need to show to the consulate to process your visa application.

FUNDS TO BE DOCUMENTED: Estimated costs for full-time study (including living expenses, books, etc.). Please note, these figures are ESTIMATES based on currently-available data and the actual amounts could be higher or lower based on mandated changes in tuition, variability in living expenses, or revisions to fees or health insurance costs. Please contact geherk@newpaltz.edu for a detailed spreadsheet with a breakdown of expected costs for your program.

3. Proof of English profiency is required for admission. SUNY New Paltz requires that the results of the official TOEFL or IELTS examination be submitted electronically from the testing agency. For TOEFL, please make arrangements to have the scores sent by indicating SUNY New Paltz's code (2541) on the form. Alternatively, scores from the institutional TOEFL offered by SUNY New Paltz may be substituted.

4. A photocopy of the name/photo page of your valid passport that you will use to travel to the US. It must be current for 6 months from the date of travel.
