Holiday Shopping

Holiday Shopping in New Paltz

By Brittany Miller ‘07

The holidays are quickly approaching, so it’s time to start thinking about gifts for your friends and family. But luckily for us, we live in a wonderful, winter wonderland called New Paltz.

New Paltz is an eclectic little town and has the shopping to mirror it’s image. With a five-minute walk to town, you could have all your holiday shopping done quickly.

For the women in your life:

  1. Stop by The Groovy Blueberry on Main Street and buy a bracelet, necklace or earrings for your sister.
  2. Take a turn down North Front Street and buy mom a candle, shirt, or ornament at Homemade and More.
  3. Get your Aunt Tilly something for the china closet, mantel, or coffee table in Dedrick’s Pharmacy’s gift section.
  4. Can’t forget about Grandma! Head down to Water Street Market and get her a print or photo from one pf the galleries – she’ll think of you every time she looks at it.

And for the men:

  1. Most dads collect something. Head to Center Street or hop on down to the Antique Barn and see if you can add to his collection.
  2. Grandpas are easy to shop for. You can get ideas at Eckerd or Rite Aid to make a basket of sugar free candies, snacks, and knickknacks he’ll love
  3. Did you know the Campus Bookstore sells DVDs? A good idea for your brother perhaps?

And for those who are just so hard to shop for… get them SUNY New Paltz memorabilia from the Campus Bookstore.

Happy Holidays!
