The Old Main renovation will commence early on Monday, 9/15, starting with closing Old Main's parking lot and erecting a construction fence around the building in its entirety. As you might imagine, a project of this magnitude will need plenty of storage space for construction material so we must also fence off a portion of the Wallkill Lot #30 (between Campbell baseball fields and Southside Ave.) where both the Old Main and High Temperature Hot Water (HTHW) project will keep material through the winter. Wallkill Lot has a capacity of 222 spaces but routinely has no more than 80 spaces used during peak periods of the academic calendar. Storage for construction material will absorb 70 parking spaces therefore leaving approximately 70+ additional spaces in the Wallkill Lot for the campus community or to compensate for the 41 parking spaces lost behind Old Main.
Thank you for your ongoing support while we make improvements to the SUNY New Paltz campus.
