"We will hew out of the mountain of despair a stone of hope" - Martin Luther King Jr., Aug. 28, 1963
Even those who walk by it every day may not be aware that "Cliffside," the sculpture by Professor Emeritus Manny Bromberg mounted on the side of the Humanities building, was originally dedicated in honor of Dr. King. This year marks the 50th anniversary of the sculpture's installation. Bromberg returned to campus in 2016 for a rededication ceremony.

FEATURED QUOTE

"The moral of this film project is that these survivors DID survive. They are energetic, articulate and eager to tell their stories and to contribute to our community. We must teach not always of the brutality of the Nazi perpetrators, but more of the humanity of the victims and survivors — let’s tell their stories and teach how they survived.”
- Miriam Klein Kassenoff ’74 (Secondary Education 7-12; English), director of the Holocaust Teacher Institute at University of Miami’s School of Education
