Costs of Retainable Attire: 2012 Cap & Gowns are $34.00 (Cap, Gown Tassel). Cap and gown are required for participants.

How to Preorder your Cap & Gown:

August and December 2011 graduates and May/August 2011 candidates should preorder their cap & gown, including special size ( i.e. XL, XXL) no later than March 24th by going directly to the Herff Jones website. Cap & Gowns will be available for pickup at the campus bookstore beginning Wednesday, April 18, 2012. Should you miss the deadline to preorder, please visit or contact the bookstore directly at 845-257-3050.

To pick up your cap & gown, The Graduating Senior Survey must be completed and a confirmation number will be generated.  You will need this confirmation number along with your New Paltz ID to pick up your cap & gown. 

August/December 2011 graduates: You were invited to respond to the Graduating Senior Survey beginning Friday, January 20, 2012. Go to your primary email and find a message sent from Jacqueline Andrews. The subject line is: Take the Graduating Senior Survey! Get Your Commencement confirmation number!

There is a link at the end of the survey. When you click on it, you will go to a screen and check box, enter your user name and password and press SUBMIT. Your confirmation number will then appear.  You will need your confirmation number for your four guest tickets, student participation ticket and to pick up your cap and gown. Bookstore hours are Monday-Friday, 8:00 a.m. – 6:00 p.m. and Saturday 10:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m. If paying by check, a valid student ID or a NYS driver's license is required.

Note: The bookstore offers graduation year "charms" which is worn on the tassle.  When you pick up your cap & gown, please let the bookstore know your year of graduation so you can get the appropriate charm.
