August/December 2012 graduates and May/August 2013 candidates can obtain only four guest tickets and their student participation ticket. All guests, including infants, must have a ticket. Extra guests may bring lawn chairs and sit outside the reserved seating area. You must have your confirmation number.
Step 1: Take the Graduate Exit Survey to obtain your confirmation number:
August/December 2012 graduates: You were invited to respond to the Graduate Exit Survey beginning in October. Go to your primary New Paltz e-mail and find a message sent from Jacqueline Andrews. The subject line is: Take the Graduate Exit Survey! Get Your Commencement confirmation number!
There is a link at the end of the survey. When you click on it, you will be brought to a new page. Enter your user name and password and press SUBMIT. Your confirmation number will then appear. You will need your confirmation number for your four guest tickets, student participation ticket and to pick up your cap and gown. View an example.

Step 2: How do I pick up my tickets? Note: If someone other than the candidate is picking up the tickets, that individual will need a photo ID and a signed note from the candidate with a confirmation number.
1. You may pick up your four guest tickets and your candidate participation ticket when you attend one of the two ceremony rehearsals in Lecture Center, 100 from 7 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, May 1 or Thursday, May 2.
Tickets will be distributed at the end of each of these rehearsals. This one-hour rehearsal will explain how the day will unfold and answer questions. Candidates picking up tickets must provide their New Paltz ID and confirmation number. Attendance is encouraged.
2. Tickets will also be distributed at the Welcome Center in the Haggerty Administration Building Lobby from May 3 to May 17, Monday through Friday, 9 a.m. to 4:45 p.m. Note: On Friday, May 17, tickets will only be distributed until 3 p.m.
3. Candidates or their families may also pick up their tickets the day of the ceremony at the will call table if they were unable to arrange pick up at one of the rehearsals or the Welcome Center. The will call table is located by the stone benches near the Jacobson Faculty Tower in the academic concourse. If someone other than the candidate is picking up the tickets, that individual will need a photo ID and a signed note from the candidate with a confirmation number.
