Guests with Disabilities

When you RSVP for the disability seating area, please let the Commencement Office know the following:

1. Please indicate number of guests when you RSVP to commencement@newpaltz.edu by Friday, May 5, 2017. Up to four guest tickets (including the guest[s] with disability) may sit in the disability seating area.

2. Please indicate what the space needs to be held for (i.e. wheelchair, cart, etc.)

3. Please indicate if you are reserving for the undergraduate or graduate ceremony.

4. If possible, please include your guest's email address so we can send detailed drop off and parking information.

                 GRADUATE SEATING MAP - ATHLETIC AND WELLNESS CENTER GYM

For safety reasons and limited space, no wheelchairs or carts are allowed in the reserved seating area.

Groups, including guests with disabilities in wheelchairs, should contact the Commencement Office at commencement@newpaltz.edu by Friday, May 6, 2016 to reserve seating in disability seating area. 

Those guests who need a sign language interpreter must contact the Commencement Office at commencement@newpaltz.edu by Friday, May 6, 2016.

 

Parking:

Undergraduate: Guests with disabilities may park in the Shango Parking Lot #32, a portion of Bouton Hall Parking Lot #25, Administration Parking Lot #15 and Mohonk Parking Lot #24. There are designated handicap spaces in the lot available for people with the appropriate parking hangtags displayed and/or license plates. Guests who have trouble walking may be dropped off in the Old Main Circle for a short walk to the disability seating area.

Graduate: Elting Parking Lot #5 (by the Athletic and Wellness Center)

Parking is first-come, first-serve.

Note: Shuttle service will be provided to and from the parking lots to the commencement ceremony both before and after the event.

Guest status change:

If the status of a guest changes and they either need to be added or removed from the disability guest list please send the Commencement Office an e-mail at commencement@newpaltz.edu no later than Friday, May 6, 2016.

Note: SUNY New Paltz is unable to provide guests with wheelchairs.
