Stella Turk, Associate Dean
Dr. Stella Turk is an Associate Dean in Liberal Arts & Sciences and is responsible for management of LA&S course enrollments, schedule development, and part time personnel contracts. She is also Chairperson and Instructor in the Department of Communication Disorders. She has an MS degree in Audiology from Brooklyn College. She received her doctoral degree in Audiology from A.T. Still University. She has been a practicing audiologist since 1986. Dr. Turk developed the audiology program at Maimonides Medical Center in Brooklyn in 1987 and served as chief audiologist until 1993. Her first appointment at New Paltz was in 1995. She developed the universal infant screening program at Vassar Brother Hospital in Poughkeepsie NY in 1997. Dr. Turk was Director of the Speech-Language and Hearing Center until 2004. She teaches undergraduate and graduate courses in speech-language pathology and audiology, and supervises clinical practicum.
