Chemistry Graduates

The faculty of the SUNY New Paltz Chemistry Department would like to congratulate the chemistry students who graduated this Spring. We are extremely proud of what you have accomplished in the years that you have been at New Paltz and we wish you the best of luck in the future.


In the picture from left to right are Tyler Moore, Jordan Sumliner, Ingrid Walfish, and Maria Rodolis. Not pictured is Erik Tellone. Tyler, Ingrid, and Maria were designated as outstanding graduates of the Chemistry Department by the College. Jordan was honored with the College Recognition Award by the Mid-Hudson Section of the American Chemical Society. Most of the graduates already have plans for next year. Tyler has been accepted to the University of Buffalo Medical School. Ingrid has been accepted to three different MD/DO schools and is considering her options. Maria has been awarded a highly competitive National Science Foundation Graduate Research Fellowship and will start in the PhD program in biochemistry next Fall at the University of Warwick in England. Jordan will begin the PhD program in chemistry at Emory University where he plans to study inorganic catalysis related to solar energy. Erik graduated with a certification in secondary education and will begin training the next generation of scientists.
