Biochemistry Anyone?

Two graduates of the SUNY New Paltz Chemistry Department are engaged in graduate work in two different areas of biochemistry.

Susan Strom – Susan is from Kerhonkson, NY and graduated from New Paltz with a BA in Chemistry in 2004. She is in the PhD program in chemistry at Michigan State University specializing in X-ray Crystallography with particular attention to transcription initiation factors.

Elaina Chan – Elaina is from Queens, NY and graduated from New Paltz with a BA in Chemistry in 2007. She is in the PhD program in pharmacology at the University of Rochester. She is focusing her research on the catalytic properties of Ric-8B proteins, a putative G protein alpha subunit guanine nucleotide exchange factor.
