Matthew Buck

Matthew Buck is from Monroe, NY and completed his Bachelors degree in 2007. He is currently a graduate student in the chemistry department at Pennsylvania State University and just passed his comprehensive oral examination. Matt is working on the development of synthetic pathways to multifunctional, inorganic hybrid nanocrystals with compositionally and morphologically complex components. Nanocrystals possessing multiple, complimentary functionalities are promising materials for solving problems in energy, catalysis, biological diagnostics, and targeted drug delivery.

"Recently, I passed my comprehensive oral examination - which was the last academic hoop they make us jump through here."

Daniel Cohen

Daniel Cohen is from Monroe, NY and completed his Bachelors degree in 2007. He is currently a graduate student in the chemistry department at Northwestern University. He is studying the reversal reactivity of unsaturated aldehydes using N-heterocyclic carbenes.

Liza Valdivia

Liza Valdivia is from Kingston, NY and completed her Bachelors degree in 2008. She is currently a medical student at Tufts University. The picture shows Liza in Panama where she spent 8 weeks in a program through Tufts with 10 other med students.
