Biology Professor Receives Chancellor’s Award
09/03/2008
Dr. Maureen Morrow, Associate Professor of Biology, received the SUNY Chancellor's Award for Excellence in Faculty Service at the spring's commencement ceremonies. On August 22nd, she addressed freshmen and entering transfer students about their hopes and dreams. In her speech, she reflected on HER first days as an undergraduate .....

The Dean emphasized that one of the many achievements for which Dr. Morrow should be proud is her establishment and coordination of the Student Research Symposium, held each spring (http://www.newpaltz.edu/research/srs/). In addition, Dr. Morrow is the chair of the student Research, Scholarship and Creative Activities advisory committee, which promotes student-faculty scholarship. It is through her tireless efforts and leadership that hundreds of undergraduates have been able to engage in unique collaborative scholarship experiences with their faculty mentors.

Way to go Maureen! Congratulations, Chancellor's “Awardee”! (and thanks, from all of us).
