Major in Biology!
The Biology program at New Paltz offers students excellent preparation for a number of allied health fields, as well as unparalleled faculty-mentored research opportunities and three different major tracks: cellular and molecular biology; organismal and environmental biology; and secondary education in biology. Our modern, research-quality instrumentation enables students to pursue every interest from molecular signaling and environmental conservation to neurophysiology and animal behavior. Recent New Paltz biology grads have gone on to attend some of the top graduate and post-doctoral institutions in the country, as well as obtain positions in pharmaceutical, biotechnology and university research, as well as teaching throughout the Hudson Valley and Long Island.
