Update: Coming Soon: An all new my.newpaltz.edu

On March 22, 2006 I sent an article about the all new my.newpaltz.edu that was scheduled to be launched this summer.

Based on a number of factors, we have decided to postpone the launch until at least winter break (late December 2006 or early January 2007).

When we initially decided to shoot for the mid-summer launch, we had very different information than we have today. SCT (the company that produces Banner and the Web software) was promising the new version of the software would be released by the second quarter this year. It has been postponed by about a year. In order to use their current version, our Web programmers would have had to write a lot of additional code to make things work as a temporary fix, and we've decided putting their time towards short term gains is not in our best interest at this point.

Later this fall we should know more and will update you at that time.
