Softball player Dale Cornelius (Carle Place) and baseball pitcher Zachary Potter (Pine Plains) and have been selected as the SUNY New Paltz student-athletes of the week for the week ending May 4th.

Sophomore Dale Cornelius hit .444 (4-of-9) at the SUNYAC tournament as the Hawks went 1-2 for a fifth place conference finish. New Paltz fell to Cortland 3-0, before shutting out Oswego 8-0 in five innings and then lost to Buffalo State. Cornelius was 3-for-3 with four RBI in the win over Oswego. She was selected to the SUNYAC All-Tournament team for her performance. The Hawks complete their season with school record 25 wins.
Senior pitcher Zachary Potter tossed a complete game, allowing two hits in leading the Hawks to a 4-2 win over Vassar in a non-conference baseball game. Potter went nine full innings, striking out 13 Brewer hitters in winning his seventh game of the season, tying the single season win record from the mound.
