Players of the Week
Women’s swim team member, Joelle Hopf and men’s cross country runner Nick Avello have been selected as the SUNY New Paltz student-athlete’s of the week for the week ending November 11th.

Joelle Hopf (Vestal) took down her own record in the 100 breaststroke, set at SUNYACs in February, in the Hawks highly anticipated meet against Allegheny. The junior aided in the 123-77 win by placing first in the 100 breast in addition to lowering her previous record of 1:08.80 to 1:08.63. Hopf posted another win on the meet in the 200 IM with a time of 2:18.34.
Nick Avello (West Sand Lake/Averill Park) completed his season by participating in the NCAA Atlantic Regional meet and placed 156th out of 271 runners. The sophomore lowered his personal best by 36 seconds from 28:51 to 28:15.9 and was the top finisher for the Hawks.
