Players of the Week
Women’s Tennis Team and Men’s Soccer player Lucas Natel have been selected as the SUNY New Paltz student-athlete’s of the week for the week ending October 14th.
The women's tennis team claimed the 2007 SUNYAC Tennis Championship held this weekend in Manlius, NY. The Hawks claimed three of the six singles flights and all three doubles flights on the way to winning their second consecutive championship. New Paltz finished with 32 points as Geneseo was second with 29 points. SUNY New Paltz receives an automatic bid into the NCAA Division III tournament by winning the SUNYAC Championship.
Lucas Natel (Mineola) scored two goals in the final ten minutes and 16 seconds to lift New Paltz past Morrisville 3-2. They were his first collegiate goals as the Hawks improve to 3-5-1 in the conference.
