Players of the Week
Men’s Volleyball player Mike Fink (Rochester/Churchville-Chili) and women’s basketball player Kristen Caban (Staten Island/St. Joseph Hill Academy) have been selected as the SUNY New Paltz student-athletes of the week for the week ending February 24th.

Sophomore Mike Fink led the Hawks to a 2-1 week as they improve their overall record to 7-14 and 3-2 in NECVA. Fink hit .452%, registering 23 kills, 17 digs and two service aces. New Paltz fell to Stevens Tech 3-1 before sweeping Purchase and Yeshiva 3-0.
Sophomore Kristen Caban tied her career high of 17 points in the 62-59 double overtime loss to Oneonta. She shot 42.9% from the floor, including 5-10 from the arc. On the season, Caban is averaging 10.4 points per game, 26.4 minutes of play and shooting 43% from the arc. The Hawks have earned the #4 seed in the SUNYAC tournament with a 12-4 conference record.
