The SUNY New Paltz Elite Swim Camp is a 5-day, highly technical, learning and training program designed to improve the skills of a competitive swimmer. The goal of this camp is to broaden the skills of swimmers so they can swim more efficiently, train more effectively and better enjoy the sport.
Each day will break down one of the four major strokes and will include drills, stroke analysis and demonstrations, video taping and critique. In addition to the work in the water, the athletes will learn dryland techniques, reaction drills, visualization techniques, and nutrition tips that are used by the college athletes at New Paltz. To supplement the stroke instruction, there will also be a mini-workout each day to maintain the swimmers aerobic fitness.
This camp is ideal for both novice swimmers looking to improve their places at summer club meets, or for highly trained swimmers hoping to qualify for a state or zone championship. Swimmers must be able to legally swim all four strokes and complete at least 500 yards without stopping.
Our coaching staff is excited, knowledgeable and energetic. Each swimmer will walk away from the camp having had fun and also improved their knowledge of the sport.
