For years, "Little Shop of Horrors" made New York audiences scream-with laughter. Thrill to the excitement as Seymour, lowly assistant to florist Mrs. Mushnik, desperately tries to satisfy the voracious craving for human flesh of the unearthly plant which seems to grow before our eyes, singing and dancing its way into our hearts-literally. Sigh as Seymour tries to win the love of Audrey, whose sadomasochistic dentist boyfriend becomes quite a tasty meal for the plant, but not its last! Suspense! Laughter! Chills! Music! Drama! And a 60s girl-group chorus!

This American classic is known worldwide and tells of the last days of a failing salesman who seeks to discover, through a tragic series of soul-searching revelations, just where and how he failed to win success and happiness. This powerful work of deep and revealing beauty won the Tony Award for best play in 1949.

Shakespeare Under the Stars: The Taming of the Shrew by William Shakespeare July 20, 21, 22, 23, 25, 26, 27, 28, 29 Performed on the banks of the Pond, 8pm Tickets: $10 general admission / $8 seniors and children

Known as Shakespeare's version of the "battle of the sexes," The Taming of the Shrew contrasts the swashbuckling Petruchio and the beautiful, shrewish Kate. The story revolves around Petruchio's desire to find a wife. The beautiful, but stubborn Kate, proves to be the perfect challenge to Petruchio's charm and wit. From the moment they first met, Petruchio is determined to marry Kate. Unfortunately, the feeling is not mutual. Kate wants nothing to do with marriage, particularly to Petruchio. He spends the rest of the play pursuing her and teaching her to become an obedient wife. Despite her resistance, Kate finally gives in and is ready to swear that the sun is the moon if Petruchio says it is so. The madcap adventures that lead to Kate's change of heart are hilarious.
