The Foundation Year takes place in Smiley Art Building whose large windows face the sweeping panoramic vista of the Shawangunk Ridge, which includes the Mohonk Mountain Preserve. It has adequate lighting, worktables, easels, a slide viewing room, a studio to shoot artwork, open studio space to work in and various exhibition areas. The new Digital/Tactile Studio has facilities for state-of-the-art computer technology in a room with worktables and a sink. This setting allows for the integration of traditional drawing/painting/collaging techniques into digital processes.
