Nestled in the foothills of the Catskill Mountains the Ashokan Campus is where you can enjoy a variety of natural habitats providing a rich assortment of flora and fauna. Cathedral Gorge and Falls make a dramatic scenic view of unspoiled nature and a century old covered bridge crosses the Esopus Creek at Winchells Falls. This 372 acre environmental education and conference facility is surrounded by forest and rural country-side.
Facilities are available from 10 a.m. to dusk from Memorial Day to Labor Day. Visits may be restricted due to events or groups in residence. Day visitors must call ahead for availability and reservations are required for camping.
Ashokan hosts groups of 40 or more for weekend and summer events, which includes lodging and food service in our rustic, yet modern indoor facilities.
SUNY Alumni Membership Fees
The membership fee includes:
Day admission- Access to trails for hiking, biking, and cross-country skiing.
- Canoeing
- Fishing (catch and release)
- Camping privileges at Ashokan's primitive Pine Grove Campground.
Day Pass:
$2 per person
(children 5 and under free)
Annual Membership:
$20 for individuals
$60 per family
