Marlea choose SUNY New Paltz because when she visited she could really envision herself here. It also boasted an affordable price tag as well as being a comfortable distance from home. Her favorite place to hang out, outside of class, is in her suite with her other suitemates. She says that living with in the residence halls with her friends has helped them form such close bonds that would not have been possible otherwise. She is also involved in her residence hall’s government as the vice-president. When talking about her classes Marlea finds that her communication classes, particularly Interpersonal Communication, has given her very practical knowledge that can be used in everyday situations.
